in Italy gay people are like ghosts, living only at night, are exorcised by the church, are ignored by the institutions and marginalized citizens. Being gay and Italian is becoming more difficult, the young gay people are hiding behind a mask of macho heterosexual "in order to be accepted, or worse not to be laughed at and humiliated, the state gives us no protection against rising tide of homophobic violence and denies us any civil law. A homosexual couple is not just a couple, not a family, two men or two women living together, they pay taxes, who care about each other and love each other, have no importance for the Italian State. The family is composed of men and women, there are no loopholes! If a homosexual couple were to miss one of the two partners would not be entitled to the remaining survivors could not take advantage of inheritance, and if I, the deceased had a a son who was living legally with homosexual couples, the same can not stay with the partner in life but to be adopted by a heterosexual couple. But the list of injustice does not end here: if one partner ill and was hospitalized in the same hospital or a private health care facility, the family of the victim may freely and lawfully prohibit assistance and visits from the other partners, completely cutting it off from any health decision. Even on the state of marriage does not deny: the absolute and irrevocable ban same-sex couples to marry, in order nessunu union between two persons of the same can be legitimized and compared to that between two people of opposite sex. Even more unthinkable is instead to allow gay adoption: Never, ever, the Italian State stain of grave sin to offer a pair of depraved against nature to deflect a little baby and "corrupt" morally, in any way "just and democratic" Italy will come to terms on this very thorny and controversial issue. As mentioned in other previous articles, I am ashamed to be Italian and I am outraged by mediocrity and ignorance of Italians who do not reason ever for themselves. The people pretend not to notice us, for our suffering or simply does not care, we walk among people who avoid fighting with us and for us, we work for men who have fallen away from our world and just like ghosts wander silent in the shadow of our loneliness.
